The aphorism places revelation in an unexpected place: ash. What remains after fire, collapse, the loss of form. Ash is ephemeral; nothing can be built upon it, and precisely for that reason it becomes a space of truth. When there is no longer a solid identity to cling to, the being that depends on no structure appears.
